John Cratchley The bass is sub-tectonic...the drums and percussion are not just locked-in they are positively imprisoned...the bass clarinet and trumpet are sparse and rhythmic...the guitar,rhodes and electronics are tasteful without being too polite: this album is just low down and dirty...electric Miles is an obvious inspiration but this is no slavish imitation.Lots more of the same please!.

Fontanelles’ abrupt change in musical direction on their fourth album leads the listener down a dark, thick, fuzzy groove-laden path.

Electric-era Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock &The Headhunters and Funkadelic are some greasy points of reference for their sophisticated strut. Featuring members of sunn 0))), Eagle Twin, Earth, etc... Fontanelle has conjured a burly fusion jazz sound that has been dubbed, “White Magus.”

Gentry Densley (Eagle Twin), Steve Moore (Earth, sunn 0))) ), Hans Teuber, Eric Walton (Skerik), Jef Brown (Jackie-O MF) and Dave Carter are all featured on Vitamin F.
